and here's the back with a little "surprise" - can't see a bail?
That's because those little holes are where the brooch pin will go!
And here's the trial fit for the brooch pin...
You can also see the back detail a little more clearly and my makers stamp. I tried really had to come up with a bail that wasn't clunky but didn't like any of them - so now it's a brooch BUT I will be making a slider bail to fit over the brooch pin
Next I need to build up some PMC over the pin fittings and then the PMC part is done (except for the firing!)

I love that brooch. Where did you get the pin components? I love how they are on that little ball that fits in that hole.
looking great!
Thanks both =)
The pin components came from silverclay.co.uk and they are the exclusive "Art Clay Silver Findings" that you use doing the level one & 2 courses.
The neat thing about them is the pin & mechanism is sterling but the nobbles are fine silver (so you unscrew the pin & mechanism and fire the embedded base parts in the kiln. Also good for hallmarking!

What a great idea - a brooch. I love it, especially with your personalised stamp.
Hello, if you are interested in playing, I have an award for you over at my blog.
